Visit the Isle of Skye to see the Talisker Distillery and learn about some of the label’s best expressions. Founded in 1830, Talisker is the oldest working distillery on the Isle Of Skye and one of the oldest in Scotland. Its full-bodied single malts are renowned for their smoky, peaty flavors and maritime theme. During the tour, Barry Nisbet Talisker Private Client Host, offers exclusive access to the storied distillery. After his walkthrough, Dr. Craig Wilson, Master Blender for Diageo, and Brand Ambassador Ewan Gunn, speak about sourcing ingredients and special editions—and their distinct flavors—in a rare tasting at a brand-new, private space.

Built in 1912 by collector Nicolas Ibrahim Sursock as his private villa and transformed into a museum in 1961, the Sursock is one of the last models of early 20th-century Lebanese architecture. It has also been a steadfast hub for Beirut’s creative scene, staying open even during the Lebanese Civil War. Sadly, the 2020 explosion caused severe damage—shattering its stained glass windows and impacting 57 artworks. Since the explosion, local artists and conservators have been restoring the museum to its original splendor. During this tour, museum director Karina El Helou guides an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of the rehabilitated building, visiting the storage facility (not open or accessible to the public) to view pieces from the art collection.

Led by Dr. Ginevra Boatto, Project Manager at World Monuments Fund (WMF), the leading independent organization devoted to safeguarding the world’s most treasured places, this tour explores the restoration and preservation of Phnom Bakheng, one of the oldest constructions at Angkor, plus its age-old shrines and terraces that sit above the surrounding jungle. Joined by Phally Cheam, Senior Architect and WMF Project Coordinator, Ginevra will take guests on a behind-the-scenes visit with an inside look at the ongoing efforts to restore sections of the temple still closed to the public.

The charming Château de Bagatelle came to be as the result of a famous bet in 1777 between Marie-Antoinette and her brother-in-law, the Count of Artois. The château was the last royal residence built before the revolution, and prior to being purchased in 1905 by the City of Paris, passed through the hands of many famous owners and played host to royal engagements. In this special tour, the President of Château de Bagatelle, will take you backstage at the castle (currently closed to the public, and being restored by Fondation Mansart) to explore its interiors, exterior and surrounding gardens, and learn its rich history.

The International African American Museum (IAAM), one of Smithsonian Magazine’s most anticipated museum openings of 2022, is set to open at Gadsen’s Wharf in Charleston, South Carolina late this fall. It was at this wharf in the late 1700s and early 1800s that up to 40 percent of all American slaves arrived to the United States. During this tour, you will be the first to head backstage to see the setup and installation of the new exhibition “From Donatello to Vittoria, 1450-1600” at the Ca’ d’Oro, one of the most prestigious late Gothic palaces in Venice, alongside Toto Bergamo Rossi, the Director of the Venetian Heritage Foundation since 2006.
